چکیده

SA Treatment of lung cancer depends on the stage. Patients with early-stage lung cancer, known as stage 1, still have a very good chance of being cured with surgery alone. Chemotherapy and surgery can potentially cure patients with stage 2 disease. Patients with stage 3 disease can be cured by chemotherapy and radiation, with or without surgery. These modalities are still the standard of care and are associated with a good chance of cure. Unfortunately, most patients with lung cancer pres ent with stage 4 disease, which is advanced or met astatic. In these patients, surgery is not an option. Radiation is used only with palliative intent; it does not improve overall survival. Chemotherapy is still effective in increasing the survival of patients with metastatic disease, but it is not curative. Therefore, we need to develop new treatment modalities for patients with advanced disease, and to improve cure rates for patients with earlier-stage disease.

New approaches in cancer immunotherapy: review article

Cancer immunotherapy refers to any intervention that leverages the immune system to eliminate a malignancy. Successful cancer immunotherapies generate an anti-cancer response that is systemic, specific, and durable and overcome to the primary limitations of traditional cancer treatment modalities. In this review paper, the effective methods in immune system to treat cancer, such as immunosuppre...

Immunotherapy and Targeted Therapies in the Treatment of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

I n the last decade, the emergence of targeted therapies has changed the treatment paradigm for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The growing availability of therapies targeting specific genetic alterations, such as epidermal growth factor (EGFR) mutations and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangements, have led to changes in the guidelines to reflect the need for molecular profiling. Mo...

Identification of a Novel Tumor-Binding Peptide for Lung Cancer Through in-vitro Panning

Tumor-targeted therapies are playing growing roles in cancer research. The exploitation of these powerful therapeutic modalities largely depends on the discovery of tumor-targeting ligands. Phage display has proven a promising high throughput screening tool for the identification of novel specific peptides with high binding affinity to cancer cells. In the present study, we describe the use of ...

Immunomodulatory Monoclonal Antibodies in Combined Immunotherapy Trials for Cutaneous Melanoma

In the last few years, there has been a twist in cancer treatment toward immunotherapy thanks to the impressive results seen in advanced patients from several tumor pathologies. Cutaneous melanoma is a highly mutated and immunogenic tumor that has been a test field for the development of immunotherapy. However, there is still a way on the road to achieving complete and long-lasting responses in...
